haiku seasons

A journalist, storyteller, and internationally published poet, I lead workshops in creativity, storytelling, writing, poetics, perception, and more. Below, you'll find details of four popular  workshops. If you're interested in something different, or if you'd like a workshop tailored to your needs, send me an email message.

Created for yoga students and teachers, this workshop helps participants to connect with the full curve of a season.

In this workshop, students turn mindfulness and openness into practical creative tools. They discover a respected poetic tradition and its modern changes, and learn to make it their own.
In the end, they have a collection of work that helps them to recall one season, and an art that will help them to slow into time to come.

Designed to help long-term professional journalists and writers rediscover their love for and delight in words, this workshop has proven efficacious for the ill, the recovering, and those for whom working with words bring more stress than joy.

This workshop can be comprised of term-long weekly sessions, a weekend intensive, or an afternoon refresher for word-weary pros.
It suits people from mid-teens up.

First taught at The Neighborhood Playhouse in New York City, this term-long workshop enables performers to create their own lyrics, monologues, and solo shows, which can be pitched to festivals, event planners, and small theatres.

Working with a familiar medium (words) in a new way encourages actors to explore depths and develop new roles and characters. It also gives performers a fresh understanding of the playwright's craft.

Everybody has a tale to tell.

Many of us deny it. Give yourself a moment, and imagine having a recording of an ancestor telling a tale of times gone by. Mundane events take on depth, charm, and meaning.

Your life is no less interesting; your stories, no less valuable

Learn to turn experiences into engaging stories -- ones you'll want to share.
